PERC has been working in India to measure the value of credit reporting and scoring in the microfinance sector. This project, part of a 3 country study, engages microlenders to conduct randomized control trials to rigorously estimate the value of information sharing in this sector, with all its peculiarities. PERC is working with some of the largest microlenders in the world to help understand how to modernize lending in this sector.
In 2005 PERC, then called the Information Policy Institute, carried out research to assess how business process outsourcing to India would impact the privacy and security of personal data. This work was carried out for the Financial Serviced Roundtable and the findings were published in the report that year.
